TIMBERON DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL Minutes of the Meeting Held June 09, 2007 IN ATTENDANCE: Everett Putney Elsie Gideon Bill Gideon Howard Neighbor Fran Trendler B.F. Adams Gwen Adams John E. Howell Jackie Fioretti The meeting was called to order by President Everett Putney at 10:00 am. He asked if anyone would like the minutes read from the previous meeting. Jackie Fioretti advised there is a correction on the treasurer’s report. The month reported was April and not May. Gwen Adams made a motion to suspend the reading of the minutes and accept them as corrected. Fran Trendler seconded the motion. The minutes were approved. Gwen Adams, Treasurer gave the treasurer’s report. A motion was made by Bill Gideon to accept the report as given. Elsie Gideon seconded the motion. The motion passed. Adams made a motion to pay our bills. Fran Trendler seconded the motion. The motion passed. A card and note was received from the Cloudcroft High School thanking us for our $100.00 donation for “Project Graduation”. The Timberon Airstrip paving will tentatively be completed in August. Everett would like to paint a happy face at the end of the runway after it is paved as a recognition symbol for our airport. It was suggested to have a fly in celebration. The Timberon weather station is working. You can access Timberon’s weather status by logging on to timberondevelopmentcouncil.com. The weather system updates every five minutes. The New Mexico State Forestry tree thinning grant is in force. We are receiving requests for thinning from our last mail out. Our next mailing will be to those property owners in T3 and T5. The slash pits were discussed and Everett will contact Ken Bradshaw, Manager of Timberon Water & Sanitation District to work out a solution to the problem. Volunteer work on the Mary Glover Park is scheduled for June 21st and June 22nd. The new tables have been set and Paul Goss is refinishing the existing benches. The three new benches will be placed as soon as it is decided where to place them. In order to continue our path work we need someone with a front end loader to move the piles of chips to the paths. over Page 2 Everett read a letter he received from Joy Odom concerning a family emergency and her encounter with calling 911 for help. After discussing the problem it was suggested the council write a letter to Otero county requesting their help in moving the Timberon 911 emergency service back to Timberon, NM A motion was made by Gwen Adams to adjourn at 10:45 am. and seconded by B.F. Adams. The meeting adjourned. These meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at 10:00am in the Timberon Lodge. They are open meetings and everyone is invited to attend.
