TIMBERON DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Minutes of the Meeting Held November 13, 2010

IN ATTENDANCE:

The TDC meeting was called to order by President Everett Putney at 10:00 AM.  Allegiance to 
the flag was given by all and a prayer was given by B.F. Adams.  Everett asked if anyone wanted 
the minutes read from the last meeting.  Jackie Fioretti advised there is a correction to the 
minutes as follows:   Proceeds from the Timberon Fire Department raffling tickets for a quilt will 
not be going to the swimming pool but will go to benefit the Emergency Medical efforts.  A 
motion was made by Burt Rubinowitz to accept the minutes as corrected and it was seconded by 
B.F. Adams.  The minutes were approved.

A Treasurer’s report was given by Fran Trendler.  A motion was made by Charlie Ross and 
seconded by Linda Lea to accept the Treasurer’s report as given.  Motion approved.  

Bills for October totaled $389.13, which included the 2010 taxes on our donated property.  Burt 
Rubinowitz made a motion to pay our bills and Mary Tyler seconded the motion.  The motion 
was approved.

Old Business:  

Everett Putney advised the Timberon Business meeting scheduled for November 18, 2010 has 
been rescheduled to January 20, 2011.  Fran Trendler will mail post card reminders in January to 
the Business’s in Timberon.  

There was discussion concerning Fourth of July activities in the community for next year.  The 
following was discussed:  Community dinner, raffle for gifts, flea market tables, dance with a 
band and liability insurance.  Linda Lea will check on a band and the cost.  What do we call the 
July 4th activities?  “July 4th Celebration”

The Scholarship Committee hasn’t met yet.  Everett gave the committee a copy of a sample 
scholarship that he and Jackie are involved in.  The committee needs to make a recommendation 
of how many scholarships, how much do we give and when do we give them etc.

New Business:

Election of 2011 Officers:  B.F. Adams made a motion and seconded by John Howell to elect the 
President, Vice President and Secretary that was nominated at the last meeting.  The motion was

approved and the following were elected:  President, Everett E. Putney; Vice President, Rick 
Merrick; and Secretary, Jackie Fioretti.  Gwen Adams declined the office of Treasurer and that 
office will be vacant starting January 01, 2010.  If anyone is interested in holding this office 
please call one of the officers.    
						
Everett Putney read a thank you note from Sue Haisley for the flowers received at Dwight’s 
funeral.  Bobbie Brown advised Bill’s brother passed away very suddenly at an early age.  Jack 
Doll and Gene Burton also passed away.  Our condolences go to their families as we keep them 
in our thoughts and prayers.

The State Forestry and RC&D Thinning Project for Timberon is underway.  Letters of interest 
along with a DVD of the Buckwood fire have been mailed to 18 property owners in Sacramento 
Units 1 and 2 which covers about 108 acres.  Contact information for this project is Everett 
Putney and Rick Merrick.  

Our December meeting is usually cancelled due to the busy holiday season.  Bobbie Brown made 
a motion to cancel the December meeting and allow the Treasurer to pay the December bills.  
This was seconded by Cal Tyler and the motion passed.

Bobbie Brown mentioned she stumbled onto a $5,000 grant to help support neighborhood 
beautification and horticulture sponsored by Fiskar’s.  There was discussion on a community 
garden, refurbishing the Community Lodge exterior and building a gazebo with native plants 
around it in Mary Glover Park.  After further discussion, Gwen Adams made a motion and 
seconded by B.F. Adams to pursue this grant.  The motion passed and Bobbie will work on the 
paper work.  Submission deadline is December 31, 2010.   

B.F. Adams advised Judy Underwood has upgraded our weather station software and is doing an 
excellent job on maintaining it.  Thanks! Judy we really do appreciate your time spent on 
keeping it running.  B.F. advised there is a link to the Weather Underground site at 
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/wxpage.cgi?call=CW7724&last=240  .  This site get’s its data 
from the TDC’s weather station and charts past weather up to the last 10 days.  Check it out.   

Fran Trendler made a motion and seconded by John Howell to adjourn the meeting at 11:20 am.  
Motion passed.  Our next meeting is January 08, 2011 at 10:00 am at 1841 Sacramento Drive.
