Minutes of the Meeting Held September 10, 2011

The meeting was called to order by Everett Putney at 10.05 AM.  Allegiance to the Flag was given, and a prayer offered by B.F. Adams.
Everett asked if anyone wanted the minutes read. A motion was made to accept the minutes as presented by Gwen Adams, seconded by Rick
Merrick.  Motion passed.

Fran Trendler gave the Treasurer’s Report.  Motion was made to accept the report and passed.  Bills for the month of August were 
submitted for approval.  A motion was made to pay the bills by Gwen Adams, seconded by Joan Eerkes.  Motion passed.  

Rick Merrick said, “the block grant is well underway and should be completed within the next two weeks.  Mike Caggiano called and 
told Rick the WUI money is now available.  So anyone wishing to participate in the grant money available to private property owners 
for the thinning of their property should email Mike Caggiano at mcaggiano@scmrd.org to be put on the “thinning list.”  

Shirley Holstrom gave a committee report on the Events Cooridinator Position.  The job description is complete with suggested changes.  
It is recommended that any person interested in this position attend the next regular meeting, October 8, 2011.  

Everett Putney gave a brief report on his Timberon tour with the interim County Manager.  Some discussion was had regarding the needs 
of Timberon relating to county interest. 

Fran Trendler delivered the price quote she received on the commercial canopy.  It was decided there were additional items to consider, 
more pros and cons, so a decision was delayed until further information could be gathered.

Everett Putney is working on a design for a Visitors Center.  The Center will contain information concerning Timberon businesses, maps, 
and other information about scenic sites, hunting regulations and dates. 
 
Meeting was adjourned at 11:30 am.

The next meeting of the Timberon Development Council will be held at the Timberon Lodge, 
October 8,  2011, 10:00 AM.
