Minutes of the Meeting Held April 14, 2012

IN ATTENDANCE:

The meeting was called to order by Everett Putney at 10.00 AM.  Pledge Allegiance to the Flag was given, and a prayer 
was offered by Everett Putney.    

Everett asked if anyone wanted the minutes read. A motion was made by Rick Merrick and seconded by Jane Huisingh 
to accept the March minutes.  Motion passed.    

Treasurer Shirley Holstrom was unable to attend the meeting so Jackie Fioretti gave the Treasurer’s report for 
March 2012.  A couple of minor corrections were made to the report.  A motion was made by Charlie Ross and seconded 
by Kent Huisingh to accept the report as corrected and the motion passed.  Bills that totaled $140.74 for the month 
of April were submitted by Jackie Fioretti for approval.   A motion was made by Rick Merrick and seconded by 
Kent Huisingh to pay the bills. The motion passed.  

Old Business:

Rick Merrick, Events Coordinator, thanked Charlie Ross for putting the information about the 
“Timberon Barbeque and Blues Festival” on the web site.  He advised he has a meeting today (April 14th) 
in the afternoon with the “El Paso Blues Society” in El Paso, Texas.  Jane Huisingh is chairman of the 
Volunteer Committee.  She is looking for volunteers and she will give them free admission to the Festival 
for their time and labor.  If you are interested please call her.  Jackie Fioretti will look into the noise ordinance, 
providing credit card service for TDC sales and sales tax.  “The next Timberon Barbeque and Blues Festival” meeting in 
Timberon is at Jane Huisingh home Thursday, April 19th at 6:30pm.  TWSD (Timberon Water and Sanitation District) has 
invited Rick Merrick to attend their meeting on Saturday, April 21st and address their concerns. 

Everett Putney advised he talked to Bill Brown concerning the Fly-In scheduled for May 18th thru 20th.  Reservations 
and money are being handled by the New Mexico Pilots Association and we do not have an approximate count as yet.  

New Business:

Jackie Fioretti read a bid on the following property:  Timberon Unit 7, Block 80, Lots 13 and 14.  After discussion, 
Kent Huisingh made a motion to accept the bids.  Rick Merrick seconded the motion and it passed.  Jackie Fioretti 
will follow up with the people who submitted the bid.

Everett Putney read correspondence from the following:  Timberon Youth Booster, S. Keune thanked us for the donation 
to sponsor three Timberon children to swim this summer at the Timberon swimming pool.  Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce 
welcomed us as a new member. 

A motion to adjourn was made by Jane Huisingh and seconded by Kent Huisingh.  The meeting was adjourned at 10:50am.  

The next meeting of the Timberon Development Council will be held at the Timberon Lodge, May 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM.  
These are open meetings and anyone may attend.
