TIMBERON WATER & SANITATION DISTRICT MINUTES FOR THE MEETING OF JUNE 18, 2005 A special meeting of the Timberon Water & Sanitation District board of directors was held on June 18, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the community center. Board members present were Joan Schug, Betty Phillips, Tom Tannehill, Larry Hanson, and Sid Benson. Minutes of the May 21st and 25th of 2005 meetings were approved. The Treasurer's Report for May of 2005 was also approved. Old Business: The bylaw committee will consist of Joe Maniello, Bill McCullough, Debbie Goss, and Tom Tannehill. Bill McCullough challenged the appointment of all committees. The Board designated Tom Tannehill, Bill McCullough, Arden Schug, Forrest Phillips, Becky Lynch, and Paul Goss as the Parks and Recreation Committee. Larry Hanson, Suzie Sims, Carolene Bompart, and Barbara Troublefield will serve on the Water Rules Committee. Betty Phillips, Debbie Goss, Joyce Williams and Paul Goss will serve on the Budget Committee. New Business: Bill Gideon recommended that we accept the single bid for audit services from Gillmore, Gannaway, Andrews, Smith & Co., LLC. The first year will cost $4,809, 2006 will cost $5,077 and 2007 will cost $5,344. Betty Phillips moved to accept the bid, and it passed unanimously after it was seconded by Sid Benson. The well drilling bid came in at $242,772.94 for a 6" casing and $332,977.84 for a well with an 8" casing. There are some conditions that must be accepted by the single bidder, K.D. Huey, to comply with funding requirements. Larry Hanson moved to accept the 8" casing bid contingent upon the funding requirements being met. Betty Phillips seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Gary Goss presented the Consumer Confidence Report. Betty Phillips moved to renew the lease for the Recreation Center. Tom Tannehill seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The NMFA conditionally approved a loan for $505,000. Betty Phillips moved to table until the next meeting to see if NMFA can change the amount to less than $500,000. There is a 1% loan initiation fee that will be added to the financed amount. The issue was tabled until the next meeting. Bill Gideon asked the board to authorize him to lease purchase five golf carts before the end of the fiscal year. It will not take a budget adjustment because there is cash in the line item for capital equipment purchase. The board discussed a line extension request on Mountainaire Drive. The terrain is very rocky and it was agreed that bids should be obtained from local contractors. The Water Rules committee could look into areas that cannot be provided with a line extension. The issue was tabled. Bill Gideon presented the Manager's Report. Committee Reports: Bill McCullough reported for the Parks and Recreation Committee. They are continuing on the lake project, and a community marquee. They will be selling Timberon Brands on the Fourth of July. Fran Trendler reported for Timberon Development Council. She thanked Shantel Keune for picking up and dropping off the four kids that went to Forestry Camp. There will be a pancake breakfast at 7:30 am, the parade will be at 10:00 am, bingo will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and a dance from 7:30 to 11:30 pm on Saturday, July 2nd. Fire Chief, Arden Schug, requested that no one burn any fires because conditions are getting very bad. Director's Remarks: Larry Hanson stated that guest memberships are still being sold and they should be stopped. Sid Benson expressed appreciation to the lake volunteers and Bill Morley for getting the front lawn cleaned up. Joan Schug echoed Sid. Betty Phillips asked Bill Gideon if Richard Rodriguez was covered by volunteer insurance. He assured her that Richard is covered for liability. Gwen Adams requested that the junk yard at the maintenance shop be cleaned up. The meeting was adjourned.
