Board members present were Joan Schug, Tom Tannehill and Scott Millar. Betty Phillips and Sid Benson were absent. Joan Schug changed the agenda order. Tom Tannehill suggested that TWSD terminate the housekeeper, Sharon Wyatt, because pursuant to Article 202.7 of the personnel policy; the general manager should not supervise members of their immediate family. The numbers matched the election judge’s results. One provisional ballot was presented to the board. Tom Tannehill cited the opinion of Judge Valentine that allowed the use of Qualified Elector Certificates. In an effort to ascertain the voter’s qualification, the online Otero County Tax Roll was consulted for property ownership. No property in Timberon was located specifically in the voter’s name and the TWSD office does not have any accounts in the voter’s name either. Tom Tannehill moved to turn down the provisional ballot based on the fact that no Qualified Elector Certificate had been completed and certification could not be verified. Tom Tannehill moved to accept the election results and Scott Millar seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Oath of Office and Election of officers will take place on August 19th. The meeting was adjourned.
