TIMBERON WATER & SANITATION DISTRICT MINUTES FOR THE MEETING HELD ON JULY 12, 2006 A meeting of the board of directors of the Timberon Water and Sanitation District was held on July 12, 2006 at 6:00 P.M., in the community center. Board members present were Joan Schug, Scott Millar, Tom Tannehill and Betty Phillips. Sid Benson was absent. Joan Schug announced that pursuant to 10-15-1(H)(2) three candidates for general manager were interviewed in a closed session earlier that morning. No action was taken. The General Manager’s Report, minutes and Treasurer’s Report will be read on Saturday. The budget committee recommended the board approve a $20,000 transfer from Fund 101 General Maintenance Department to Fund 101 Administration Department to create a positive ending balance in Administration. The 2006/2007 final budget was presented by the budget committee. The board will review the budget and vote on it Saturday. Betty Phillips also suggested that TWSD consider changing water rates by eliminating the first three thousand free gallons. Tom Tannehill requested that the board also consider establishing a rate less than $0.44 per 1000 gallons for water delivered to the golf course from Carissa Springs. Water rates will be placed on the Saturday agenda. The meter readers have terminated their contract after the August reading. An RFP has been advertised and will open on July 26th. Without the three thousand gallons included in the base water price, meters could be read every other month or once each quarter. The board will need to authorize the general manager and the billing clerk to sign Release of Liens. Committee Reports: The 40 Year Water Plan Committee will not be placed on the agenda for Saturday. A public forum will be held in August. Directors Remarks: Joan Schug received a letter from the Southeast Economic Development Council rejecting her grant request and suggesting other sources for her to pursue. The meeting was adjourned.
